At British Spirals & Castings, we specialise in producing bespoke cast aluminium spiral staircases designed to honour heritage craftsmanship. All our cast aluminium spiral staircases begin their journey at our own non-ferrous foundry in Stoke-on-Trent. Our skilled moulders use traditional greensand casting methods to produce castings of the highest quality for every product. These staircases offer the look and feel of traditional cast iron at a fraction of the weight, making them ideal for work on existing buildings such as loft conversions. Cast aluminium is also much less likely to rust or corrode, making them perfect for outdoor use also.

Victorian Spiral Staircases

Inspired by the intricate metalwork of 19^th Century Britain, our traditional Victorian spiral staircases create a decorative centrepiece. These spirals are often paired with more ornate spindles and infill panels to form a detailed balustrade that complements the floral cast aluminium treads.

Georgian LCC Spiral Staircases

With their uniform square tread patterns, our Georgian LCC spiral stairs have a modest aesthetic. With their more minimalist design, they work well in contemporary spaces, while still meeting the requirements of many conservation zones in London. While these are typically paired with plain round or square balusters, the design can be customised by mixing baluster styles to create a more one-of-a-kind finish.

Art Deco Spiral Staircases

Taking inspiration from the bold geometric forms of the Art Deco movement, our Modern Art Deco spiral staircases offer a clean, practical aesthetic that honours one of the most popular design eras to date. Their simple slotted treads are paired with square or circular profile spindles for a sleek, more contemporary look.

Diamond Pattern Spiral Staircases

Unique to British Spirals & Castings, our Diamond pattern spiral stairs offer a decorative alternative to the uniform tread designs associated with the Georgian period. The versatility of the pattern allows it to be combined with a wide range of baluster options, from decorative infill panels to simple square or circular spindles.

Metal Treads with Wooden Infills

For those seeking a blend of industrial metalwork and rich, natural materials, our metal treads with wooden infill spirals are a beautifully finished solution. We can supply Premium Grade timber inserts in oak, ash, or sapele, or birch-faced ply if a painted finish is preferred. These can then be paired with either matching timber or cast aluminium handrails. The metalwork is cast and finished in-house, while the timber inserts are supplied ready for on-site finishing.

Bespoke Spiral Staircases

As well as our standard spiral staircase range, where elements can be mixed and matched to create a more distinctive finish, we also offer original castings produced directly from drawings or existing designs. This allows us to create completely one-off commissioned staircases, giving you total design freedom and a truly bespoke result.

Sizes, finishes, and installation

All our spiral staircase designs are available in diameters from 970mm to 2250mm. We provide clear guidance on measuring to ensure the correct size and configuration for your space.

While a lot of our spirals are finished in shades of black, our cast aluminium stairs can actually be powder coated in any RAL colour for a more custom finish. We deliver our staircases worldwide and they are designed to be easily installed, often by homeowners themselves.
